Getting to the Jacksonville Port (Port Transportation)

The vast majority of cruisers departing Jacksonville are people who drive to the port. The port is located on the northeast side of the city, just inside the I-295 loop.

Here is a map showing the port in relation to the city:

The port’s address is 9810 August Drive, Jacksonville, Florida, 32226 if you want to map it in your GPS. No matter which direction to come from the easiest way to reach the port is to take the I-295 loop until you reach Exit 41 (Zoo Parkway/Heckscher Drive). Once you exit, turn west onto Heckscher Drive. After about 3/4 of a mile, turn left onto August Drive, which takes you to the port.

Getting to the Jacksonville Cruise Port Without a Car

Because the Jacksonville cruising scene is small compared to other Florida ports, your transportation options outside of driving are limited. If you are flying into the airport, your best option is to catch a taxi to the cruise terminal. Taxi fare from the Jacksonville airport to the cruise port will run $30-40 each way. Note that this fare is per car, not per person.

Carnival does run a shuttle between the airport and the port, which costs $40 round-trip. If you are traveling alone, this would be worth it. However, with two or more people it’s cheaper to simply take a taxi.

Some hotels offer shuttles from their property to the port if you are staying as a guest. Simply contact the hotels listed here to see if they offer the service.
