The 11 Most Luxurious Miami Cruise Hotels

Posted May 2nd, 2016 in Uncategorized by Admin

There’s no doubt about it. Miami is one of America’s hottest cities, literally and figuratively. That doesn’t mean the city doesn’t cater to all kinds of cruisers, but when you’re in Miami, it’s normal to be a little flashier… a little showier… and expect a little more luxury.

That’s why we’ve taken the time to hunt down the city’s hottest luxury hotels for your cruise. The hotels are all relatively close to the cruise port, but more importantly, they are close to the heart of Miami’s nightlife and glamour. Meanwhile, they all have one thing in common — they offer the most luxurious accommodations for your cruise in one of America’s most luxurious cities.

Prices are for a recent search for a Saturday night stay. Expect prices to vary based on demand and time of year. Hotels are listed from most expensive to least.

The SetaiĀ
The Setai in MiamiCost: $489
Distance from port: 6.4 miles
Details: Located right in the heart of Miami Beach, The Setai offers its guests some of the nicest suites in the entire area. From stunning oceanfront accommodations that provide sweeping views of the Atlantic to Art-deco inspired suites with romantic vibes, the hotel offers a stay that you won’t forget. We like that guests in oceanfront suites receive a complimentary 45- minute spa treatment with their room.

The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort
Cost: $472
Distance from port: 15.2 miles
Details: The St. Regis isn’t all that close to the cruise terminal (taking between 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic), but we doubt that you’ll care all that much since you won’t want to leave anyway. The hotel is rated five diamonds by AAA. It’s easy to see why. Wonderfully appointed in modern touches, the hotel has a great feel, along with an extreme focus on service. Guests who don’t like cramped hotel rooms will love that the smallest room we found was still a massive 650 square feet.

Acqualina Resort & Spa
Cost: $426
Distance from port: 21.1 miles
Details: This hotel is far from the cruise terminals, but worth the extra distance considering it is rated as “Five-Star Hotel” by Forbes — one of only 154 places in the world to earn that designation. As with most luxury hotels in the area, expect to be able to walk directly onto the beach, and to be pampered at every turn. We like the multiple pools offered, including the adults-only Tranquility Pool designed to be a quiet oasis.

Faena Hotel Miami Beach
Cost: $417
Distance from port: 7.3 miles
Details: Located in a hot spot just a few miles from the cruise port and right on Miami Beach, the Faena Hotel has a vibe that harkens back to old Miami, without any stuffiness you might find with other luxury hotels. If you want bright, sunny, airy, and tropical (think linen shirt instead of tuxedo), then this is your place.

The Ritz-Carlton South Beach
The Ritz Carlton hotelCost: $349
Distance from port: 6.2 miles
Details: The Ritz-Carlton is synonymous with luxury, and this hotel in South Beach doesn’t disappoint. Of course, it’s right on the beach, and walking distance to the South Beach nightlife. We want to personally check out the oceanfront infinity pool.

Fontainebleau Miami Beach
Cost: $328
Distance from port: 8.3 miles
Details: Perhaps no hotel is as well known in Miami than the FontaineBleau, which Travel + Leisure names as the #1 hotel in Miami Beach. Of course it sits in the middle of all the action and offers everything you’d expect of a famous Miami hotel. Those wanting to be pampered will love the spa, while those looking to let loose will want to check out BleauLive. No matter what you are looking for in a luxury hotel, Fontainebleau can deliver.

Royal Palm South Beach
Cost: $309
Distance from port: 6.3 miles
Details: A slice of paradise in Miami, the Royal Palm reminds us of a mid-century modern style — comfortable, yet unpretentious. Steps to the beach, and with all the amenities you’d expect, including spas, pools, and oceanfront views, the Royal Palm is a great option for those looking to be on the southern end of Miami Beach, yet close to the cruise port.

The Miami Beach EDITION
Cost: $308
Distance from port: 7.1 miles
Details: An ultra-modern beach hotel with fewer than 300 rooms, the EDITION offers luxury with a minimalist flair that fits well with the ocean and sand. We want to see the pool area, which they say is inspired by the 1950’s Cuban nightclub, Tropicana.

The Tides South Beach
Cost: $297
Distance from port: 6.3 miles
Details: The Tides building was originally built in 1936, harkening to the Art Deco style that’s famous in Miami. Today it has a great location near the cruise port and near the famous South Beach. Expect all the features of a luxury hotel, but wrapped in a historic twist, that helps you recall the glory days of the area in the early part of the 20th century. Great for those who appreciate Miami history.

Four Seasons Miami
The Four Seasons Miami PoolCost: $289
Distance from port: 2.8 miles
Details: It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Four Seasons is rated Five Diamond by AAA, but what’s unique about the hotel is that it isn’t located on the beach. Instead, it’s located south of the cruise terminal, on Biscayne Bay. You can’t miss the soaring, glittering tower right on the bay. Of course, the Four Season Miami offers all the modern luxury you’d expect from a brand that’s famous for its service.

Mandarin Oriental Miami
Cost: $259
Distance from port: 2.8 miles
Details: The Mandarin Oriental is known around the world as a luxury hotel brand, and this one is located less than three miles from the cruise port on Brickell Key. We love the fusion between Asian and urban styles, all situated in one of the hottest beach cities in America. And since it’s located on a small island, you can actually have a little peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Miami.
